The artist created several paintings using this park as the setting for each of them. However, this one is a little different in that he has placed a blue chair at mid central background, and a person is resting on it, possibly the artist himself.
He has used the ‘rule of thirds’ for structuring this painting, and has placed the lovely lady with a walking stick just off centre, in the central third. This appeals to the viewer’s eye. The lady wears a cool blue coloured outfit that harmonises with the cool green manicured lawn and the aforementioned seat. Her figure throws slight shadow.
The artist has used ‘stippling’ and different coloured dabs of paint to show fallen autumn leaves. A few touches of red paint spread across the canvas connect, and help hold the painting together. The red colour is in contrast to the bright green hues.
Who is the special lady?
